1. How Injection Grouting Works: The Basic Principle
Injection grouting is very easy and effective. Small ports or packers are put into the cracks or holes drilled. Our Injection Grout is then pumped into the void under a controlled pressure with a Grout Pump. This is injected into the crack system and not on the surface, like other "sealing" applications, but to saturate the crack system. A chemical reaction takes place when it comes into contact with water. Hydrophilic (water-loving) grouts swell to many times their initial volume and hydrophobic (water-repelling) grouts form a dense, flexible plug. The outcome is a structural repair that prevents flowing water instantly and is elastic enough to withstand building movements in the future.
